Ministry of Foreign Affairs Extension —
Retiro, Buenos Aires
The project aims to simply resolve the functioning of a complex program and, from an urban perspective, respond to the diverse conditions presented by the site on its various frontages. It proposes a range of usable outdoor spaces that serve as extensions of the new building’s functions, and above all, seeks to consolidate the concept of a unified building complex through the creation of a large shared garden connecting the Palacio San Martín, the annex, and the new building. To achieve these goals, the proposal features a clearly defined volume aligned with the building line along Juncal Street, which breaks down into terraces and semi-covered areas that unfold along Basavilbaso Street, connecting with the existing base structure to create this elevated garden.
